What kind of tool are you?
Swiss Army Knife – Adaptable to all situations, small but handy. Once you get used to having it on you you’ll be lost without it.

How would you explain your job to a non-accountant?
I take all the stress of dealing with company finances away from the business owners and tell them how much profit they’ve made. Most importantly, I can show them legal ways to reduce their tax, and can also help businesses owners grow the business.

Describe your perfect weekend?
Wake up Saturday morning, have a game of golf and a decent bit of food followed by a few pints at the local on Saturday night. Hopefully have a nice lie-in on Sunday morning and a generally lazy day recovering from Saturday night. Takeaway Sunday night (preferably an Indian).

What don’t you like?
Early mornings – definitely not a morning person at all.
Wasting time – by the time I wake up I only have so many hours left in the day!

What’s your favourite thing about working at For The Trade?
The potential of the business – it genuinely feels like we’re providing a service that’s making a difference to people’s lives. We’re working with a group of businesses that have never properly jelled with accountants in the past.
